The Colorful Range of “Moonlight”
Iconic doesn’t even begin to describe the movie “Moonlight.” It’s the first-ever LGBTQ+ movie about black people that won the Academy Award for ‘Best Picture.’ Not to mention that infamous gaffe during the actual ceremony where the presenters mistakenly gave that award to “La La Land” first. These and more are just some of the reasons why I bought the movie poster for it!
Another good reason? The poster is just incredible! I appreciate it so much, both as an art dealer and as a memorabilia collector. In my opinion, the poster can pass as a display piece in any of the galleries I work for! Having just seen it online, it already caught my eye with its uniqueness and precise composition. But seeing it up close? It’s even better than I previously imagined. I bought one from a website called MoviePosters.com at a very affordable price. If you ask me, however, I would have paid a lot more for this masterpiece!
First of all, just the simple closeup of the film’s protagonist, his face divided into the different stages of his life featured in the movie, was genius. It’s both artistic yet mainstream at the same time, conveying what the film is all about without having to look too avant-garde nor in-your-face! And the colors? The tones of blues and purples that beautifully off-set our dark-skinned hero is just captivating. It only goes to show that yes, you can do a lot with so much melanin, which begs the question of why Black people are always so underused and underrepresented in the movie industry! Well, that’s an issue for another time.
Just seeing the poster in person makes me admire all the wonderful digital and graphic artists working in Hollywood right now. And kudos to MoviePosters.com for getting a hold of this masterpiece! Even though the movie just premiered a couple of years ago, I appreciate the fact that this company was able to preserve this iconic item. It looks so high-quality, so eye-catching, and it draws you in every time you sneak a peek. That’s the mark of an outstanding movie poster!
Additionally, I also have to commend the website’s service. Confirming my order online was quick and hassle-free, the delivery was alright, and the poster was shipped to me in mint condition. I can’t say that about the other online poster shops! So far, MoviePosters.com is the only one where I’m 100% satisfied in terms of service. They really took me into consideration, took great care of my poster, and made sure I got it as soon as possible. If only the other websites were this amazing!
It feels great to have an iconic poster hung on my fall at home! And I have to thank MoviePosters.com for making that happen! I don’t mean to sound like PR for them but you really should check them out if you’re into buying (or collecting like me!) movie posters! Theirs are bomb!

THANK YOU!! I’ve always said that, apart from the movie, the poster for it is also worth talking about!
Damn, I’ll never forget that Oscars moment lol
There’s not a single more awkward live TV moment than that!!!
The poster looks like it’s straight out of an art gallery or something!
Or should be hanging in one!
I guess I know what to buy for my own collection next!
Big fan of the movie but not of the poster! Sorry…
Why aren’t you?
All the colors and the different faces just confuses me!
That’s the beauty of it!
Hmm… I’m intrigued by the website no!
