(Dis)Respect To An American Icon

An icon should be given respect no matter what form she comes in! Especially if that icon is the one and only Ruth Bader Ginsburg! I recently bought a poster of the late Supreme Court Justice’s documentary, “The Notorious RBG,” from AllPosters.com, and let me tell you: I’ve never seen her disrespected like that.

With all due respect to AllPosters.com, I don’t know who runs this website, but I have reason to believe that far-right conservatives are running it! They mishandled the RBG poster I bought so poorly, it almost felt intentional! Here’s the sitch: I ordered the poster a couple of weeks ago. It only cost around $27.00 so it wasn’t that big of an investment. But even so, I would have expected better service from AllPosters.com than what I experienced!

They said on their website that shipping would only take around 5 – 7 days. Since the company is based in California and I live in Chicago, I thought I’d get the poster, at the very latest, a week after I placed the order. Do you know how long I eventually had to wait for it? Three weeks! I was calm when the first five days passed through. When it reached a whole week, I called them up and they just said that I should wait patiently. I thought that perhaps, because of Covid-19, shipping wasn’t going to be as fast as it usually would. But for me to wait for another three weeks? That was just… I don’t have the right words!

Oh, but that’s not even the worst part! Are you guys ready for this? When I finally got the damn poster, it was ripped! Can you believe that!? Not only did I get the product way too late, but they also didn’t even take better care of it to ensure it got to me in mint condition! Fortunately, it was a tiny rip, one that most would probably not make a big fuss over. I wouldn’t have myself, to be honest, but it was right after I had to wait for three-frickin’-weeks so of course I’d be fuming! I called them up to complain about it and all I got were lame excuses and half-assed apologies!

It’s a good thing I already had my frame ready for it. At least the dimensions were all accurate so the poster fits perfectly with what I bought. With the help of some scotch tape and by encasing it just right, you really wouldn’t tell that a tiny part of it was ripped up. And the quality, I have to say, is outstanding. The print is so clear, the colors so lush, and the finish just right. I can almost feel that the great RBG herself is actually staring back at me when I look at the poster. It’s just a shame that it had to have a rip and came to me so frickin’ late!

After this ordeal, I probably won’t be buying from AllPosters.com again. Sure, their products are high-quality and their prices are the most affordable, but their customer service is—pardon my french—shit! It just is! They have to seriously start over if they want to succeed in the business. Having great products is one thing, but they still have to take better care of them and look out for their customers too!

Damn, sorry about your experience bro but thanks for sharing. Now I know to steer clear of this site.

It’s a shame too because their posters really are quite something. I have a friend who also bought that RBG one and it really does look badass.

Seeing Joe Biden become president makes me want to buy this too but now I’m too afraid to shop at that site.

Same, seems sketchy!
