A Waste of A Day Off
Let me tell you straight up: if you’re thinking of buying a poster from AllPosters.com, don’t! Just don’t! I get that they have a sick selection and their posters are probably high-quality and everything, but if you don’t want your time wasted, I’m telling you now, don’t buy from here! You’ll regret it as much as I do now.
I recently bought a “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” poster from there to give to my fellow collector as a birthday gift. Long story short, it was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made! Both as a collector and a friend! I and my buddy loved the movie growing up and having become movie memorabilia collectors, I thought it was the perfect gift. It still is and he loves the poster now, but damn! Having to wait for AllPosters.com to ship the thing to me was infuriating! No wonder all the other guys on this blog hate that website too!
I initially thought the situation was perfect! I ordered it online, it was very cheap—compared to other movie poster websites anyways—and it seemed high-quality just from the photos. However, it was the shipping process that really effed up in more ways than one. Firstly, the company can’t even get their shit together in updating me about its status. They have a tracking system but it was no help! And every time I contacted them about my purchase, they only gave vague and obviously half-assed answers. They keep giving me all sorts of estimated dates of delivery but they were never correct! I can’t tell you how many days off I wasted just waiting for the damn thing? It’s like they didn’t even care! They already had my money, so why would they, right?
And do you know the worst part? It didn’t even get to me in time for my friend’s birthday! I made him all excited about my present only for me to show up at his birthday get-together empty-handed! I was humiliated! My friend seemed a little down about it too! It’s a good thing he’s a cool guy, though! Anyways, I eventually got the poster almost a month after I ordered it! It wouldn’t have been an issue if I lived outside of the US but I’m just in Maine for goodness’ sake! How did it take a whole frickin’ month to deliver a stinkin’ poster!?
Oh! but that’s not all, my friends! When I opened my package, there was a dent in the frame! Wow! It took them almost a month to ship the poster to me and all the while, they couldn’t even take good care of it? The poster itself looks good and high-quality, as I expected, but the frame? It was a little busted and even the way the poster was framed was kinda off. I had to take it out and put it back again to make it look right! And you know that I gave this company an earful after that!
To all my fellow memoraiblia collectors and movie buffs out there, for the sake of your sanity, avoid AllPosters.com at all costs! I know the site is cheap and all and they do have some bomb posters, but it’s not worth it! Believe me!
